Zycron has joined with a large utility company in search of a Sr. Cyber Security Specialist- Linux Administrator. This is a 2 year contract with possible extensions. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:   

  • A Systems Administrator (Linux) contractor position is needed in Cybersecurity Organization.
  • This position will be reporting to the Program Manager for Infrastructure Operations.
  • Perform operational maintenance, support and troubleshooting including but not limited to patching, service administration and network connectivity for multiple Linux systems across a diverse environment.
  • A solid understanding of networking, systems design, integration, security, and engineering principles are essential for success.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience engineering in a highly complex environment, be familiar with Linux System Administration, Configuration, and System Security using Linux Red Hat, Centos and Ubuntu.
  • Experience with Blade server environments, ESXi virtualization, Windows, SAN, network systems, automation and scripting.
  • Additional skills desired include experience designing and/or supporting, and maintaining security monitoring system components, such as network TAPs, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems, SIEM, and packet capture systems.
  • Additionally, the candidate should exhibit following key abilities: attention to detail, clear verbal and non-verbal communication, problem analysis skills, planning and organizational skills, teamwork, have excellent customer service skills, demonstrate an ability to work with minimal supervision, and be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Up to 10% Travel required. Ability to obtain and maintain Sensitive and NERC CIP Clearances required.

Education/Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Seven or more years of cybersecurity operations experience protecting electronic and information based assets, with at the last three years of that current and hands-on.
  • A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science (or other related field) is desired, but not required for the position.
  • Audit/Investigations experience is highly desired.
  • Operational Technology experience is highly desired. 
  • Certification/License, etc — CISSP, CISM, CISA, GCIH, ENCE, or equivalent. 
  • Demonstrated competencies in leadership, delegation, analysis, teamwork, coaching/development, customer service, planning/organizing, flexibility, stress tolerance, communication.
  • Demonstrated strategic and tactical IT planning and understanding of missions and business needs.
  • Broad knowledge of business functions and related cybersecurity needs.
  • Must stay familiar with Federal laws, regulations, and industry best practices for cybersecurity strategies and technology.
  • Knowledge of IT operational infrastructure including disaster recovery/backup, data management, and ability to develop/ensure security measures/processes are implemented.
