Business/Quality Analyst

Zycron, a Division of BG Staffing, has an immediate need for a Business/Quality Analyst for full-time position with the Nashville Electric Service. 


  • Lead efforts to elicit and document requirements for projects
  • Create documentation such as business process diagrams and other tools that demonstrate business needs
  • Plan and estimate efforts to gather and document requirements
  • Ensures that the right stakeholders are involved in the right meetings and decisions
  • Manage requirements for projects in a tool such as Microsoft TFS (including prioritization, ranking, and categorization)
  • Write requirements in various formats (waterfall and agile) including Business, Functional, Non-Functional, and Technical requirements and Epics, Features, and User Stories (as well as detailed acceptance criteria)
  • Lead User Acceptance Testing including assisting with creation of User Acceptance Testing  Plans  when necessary
  • Coordinate with Team Leads and Project Managers to ensure requirements are met on projects
  • Negotiate priorities across business units, IT, and 3rd parties including with senior (C­ level)  management  as needed
  • Work with Quality Assurance team to create traceability matrix for each project/effort
  • Work with IT AppDev and Business Teams to coordinate quality assurance and testing efforts utilizing Microsoft TFS and MTM/Test Hub (including writing test cases, executing test cases, creating/managing defects)
  • Create training  documentation  for end users  and perform  system training
  • Other duties/assignments as needed

Minimum Experience/Education:

  • 7 years of experience as a business analyst type role where business and functional requirements  were  documented  and managed  as part  of a project  in conjunction with IT
  • 2 years of experience writing Agile user stories and acceptance criteria in a software development  organization
  • 2 years of experience in a requirements management tool such as TFS, Jira, Rally, Version  One, or HP ALM
  • 6  months  of  quality  assurance/testing  activities  in  conjunction  with  software development (writing test cases, executing test cases, defect management at IT or user level)
  • Experience coordinating user acceptance testing, end user training, and end user documentation
  • Working knowledge  of BABOK  v3 terms and  concepts
  • Working knowledge of PMBOK v5 terms and concepts surrounding requirements management,  stakeholder  management,  and  quality management
  • Working knowledge  of Agile/Scrum  processes,  terms,  and concepts
  • Working knowledge of the Software/Systems Development Lifecycle Cycle (SDLC) process, terms, and concepts
  • Bachelor's Degree in any field

Desirable Experience/Education:

  • Solid understanding of Finance and Asset Management processes and department functions
  • Experience  with Financial and/or Work  Management  applications
  • Experience in the utilities industry
  • More than 1 year experience  directly  performing  quality assurance  activities
  • Hands on experience with a testing tool such as TFS/Microsoft Test Manager, HP Quality Center, etc.
  • Graduate degree (MBA,  MPA, MIS,  etc.)
